Help Update issues - swype

Got the update yesterday! Yeah! Until I went to use handcent. It doesn't recognize anything I type. All suggestions are in a foreign language. I checked my settings and made sure that English was chosen. Swype is the same way. How to fix this really frustrating to say the list.

I think I fixed it. I went into manage applications and cleared the data and cache for both handcent and swype.

Mine did the same thing. The default language after the update changed to Spanish. Changed it back to English, but the help is still in Spanish...which isn't much help! :D

When you cleared the cache/data, did the help revert back to English or is yours still Spanish? Just curious....

Funny, my swype defaulted to Spanish after the update too. I was scratching my head wondering why it kept autocorrecting incorrectly.

When you say the help reverted back - what help are you referring to?

Initially, everything was in Spanish, even the word suggestions. It will switch back to English for dictionary purpose, but the help and on-screen tips are still in Spanish (likke when you type a word not in the dictionary, it asks if you want to add the word, in Spanish).

Once I reset the default language to English, then cleared the cache, then rebooted, everything went back to English, including the help, onscreen tips and dictionary.
