Root update messed up my phone!

so this morning i woke up to my phone saying it had a firmware update from tmoble, and excited to hear this is eagerly let it update. however when my phone tried to reboot itself it got stuck on the vibrant screen and wont go any further. any ideas on what to do? i dont want to do a factory reset of my phone!:confused::confused:
 
Is it still stuck on the vibrant screen? Try pulling the battery out, then put it back in and turn your phone on and see what happens.
 
Ummm well, you're gonna have to flash it back to stock rom w/ odin. Not unless you have a nandroid backup file you can flash back to.
 
thanks that fixed it, you just saved my life and probably the life of the guy i was going to yell at for a new phone :P
 
actually had an issue where i extracted everything in the .tar file and didn't realize that i was suposed to just leave it as it is ... that took alot of time and hair pulling -_-!

Yeah, but I bet you never have that problem again! :)
 
Can anybody update on the results of trying to restore the phone using a nandroid backup? Are you even able to get into recovery? My friend had this same problem and is getting a new phone shipped to him. I'd just like to know for my own curiosity and to show him that the store reps don't know jack when it comes to these phones. Thanks.
