Nexus One getting Pinch Zoom

yah, honestly...i'm starting to get annoyed. if we don't get the damn update by the time the nexus one hits verizon....droid is going on ebay.
 
Why is this in the Droid section? Anyway I hope our next update includes multi touch like the Nexus one because Droid really needs it. Dolphin is nice and all but the stock browser is still more polished and reliable. Come on update.
 
I agree with the others before me... this market fragmentation is really annoying. When I purchased my Droid, I didn't even know the "Google phone (N1)" would be coming out a month later preloaded witn 2.1. At first, I was pissed, but then I calmed down because I thought we'd be getting a 2.1 update quickly but here we are in Feb with no solid ETA and I'm aggravated.
 
Maybe if we start a poll or a forum and send it to Google or Motarola they will see how they're customers are taking this fragmentation.
 
Droid is going on ebay the moment the nexus one hits verizon... sorry but the Nexus one just gets updated better and is just an overall a better device. I regret not waiting :mad:

Do you realize what percentage of people are on this forum out of the total Droid owners? NO way they will give 2 crap about this little tiny forum.

+1, they don't care guys, seriously.. Just drop the droid for nexus when it comes out and we'll all be happy! :)

EDIT: is alldroid down? I have the .zip file I wanna get it to the Devs ASAP.
 
Hopefully Moto will get their act together and push 2.1 out with MT enabled. Now that we know Google is cool with it in the North American market, there's no reason not to implement it.

As for Dolphin, I'll pass. It felt sloppy when I tried it.
 
xScope has become my default browser now. Has MT and it's fast.

But I'd love to have that updated Maps app. Not just for MT, but for....

Starred items synchronized with maps.google.com - access your favorite places from your phone or computer
Search suggestions from your personal maps.google.com history - makes it easy to search for places you've searched for before
Night mode in Google Maps Navigation - automatically changes your screen at night for easier viewing and driving

Yeah, that was just my ISP acting up. Good thing I can mooch off my neighbor's Comcast, ROFL.

Anyways, it's up on Alldroid and the devs are looking at it. Hopefully we'll see these new features on our Droids soon.

Was just going to say the same. Multiple people uploaded it to alldroid and we should see the apks soon I would hope. Thanks fabolous.
 
Just read that Google released an update giving nexus 1 multi-touch so maybe that is what is taking so long for Droid to get 2.1?
 
yeah, i think droid will get all this mulit touch when 2.1 shows up, apple and google have had a falling out it seems and there is a lot of stuff involved or was, now its over!

I think the Droid will be getting all this multitouch tonight, seeing as how it's already running on at least 2 of the devs' phones.
 
Cmon guys, google had to throw nexus a bone. The launch was such a flop - they need something so they can gloat and brag a little, it's only fair.

Ok. That's long enough. Let's go droid army! Attack motorola and verizon for updates!

Interesting point, since this will be the first update, and it has not actually arrived yet for most people.

Well, it depends on what you want. It has no keyboard and a "less standard" resolution than the Droid.

Having said that, I fully intend to get an N1 when they hit VZW. But not because they are 'updated better;' rather, because of the form factor and display.

Hm I haven't kept up with the dev's blogs so I'm not sure, but sometimes it comes in an installable apk, but sometimes you need to be rooted. Sorry not a solid answer, it just depends on what the dev's are working on first. (Right now I believe it is a ROM and not APK's)

Makes sense, thanks for clearing that up!

So much for Droid being Verizons flagship device. When N1 does come to VZW, I bet the Droid hits the backburner even more and many MANY Droid customers with be PISSED. Myself included.
