Update on the way

So, after pestering Motorola support for a while I've gotten this response back:

"At this point we are awaiting a small update that would resolve the issues you mentioned. Please bear with us a bit longer. We cannot give you a precise time but we would be expecting the update in a few weeks. "

The issues I've been pressing them with include

They say few weeks...but it will get pushed back and back for months. As is the Motorola way. They should say a couple of months to start with and then release it early.

I was expecting Gingerbread update though ;-)...
Considering that Moto said Charm,flipout,i1 will not be upgraded...
Any chances for Milestone 2 to get gingerbread??..

I think there's a fair chance that the Milestone 2 will get 2.3 eventually. I wouldn't say it's guaranteed though.

Given that the Atrix and Bionic are slated to ship with 2.2 I think we'd be looking at at least several months, realistically the summer.

I don't expect O/S updates on Android phones anymore and will most likely buy something new with a more recent version before the Milestone 2 sees an update.
