SuperSonic SC-76MID works only on WIFI. WIFI keeps cutting out. Uses Android 4.0. Can I update it to a newer version of Android? if so which version

Android itself has very little to do with whether your wifi radio is working. Try an app like WiFi Analytics (free at the Play store) to see if you're getting a strong signal. Being right at the edge of a weak signal can cause the problem.
Also check to see how many other signals there are on the same channel. Interference from other routers can cause it. (You can change the channel your router is operating on, using the app that came with the router, or by just connecting to it with a web browser. See PortForward's Forum • View forum - Router Specific if you can't figure out how to do it. (WiFi Analytics will show you where the signals near you are, as far as which channels they're on.)
