Help Update Problems

I have tried to update my phone OTA using the Software Update option in the settings. The update downloads ok, then it says "The update package was successfully received. During installation procedure calls cannot be made. Install the update now?"

I click on Yes and it says that it will reboot.

After it reboots it says "Failed to update firmware. Try again using PC software (Kies) or visit a Samsung service centre.

When I use Kies, there is no update available.

Does anyone know how I can update?

This is my phone version:

PDA: I9100BUKG2
Phone: I9100BUKG1
CSC: I9100VODKE2

Any help would be grateful.
 
I've never tried to update that way so to be honest I'm not to sure what the problem would be. But usb debugging seems to interfere with official downloads so make sure that's turned off. Setting, applications, development.
 
I've just checked and USB debugging is turned off.

Could be its not working becuase I have rooted my phone?

If so, how can I do the latest update?
 
Sorry for being an idiot, but how do I find my firmware version?

I have checked the guide and it doesn't seem to have my firmware. Is my firmware version: I9100BUKG2.

These are the settings I have on the phone:

PDA: I9100BUKG2
Phone: I9100BUKG1

Is the PDA the firmware version?
 
Yeah the pda is your firmware. To be honest since your rooted you might aswell flash the latest so go for ki3. Then reroot with cf root ki3 kernel. Yeah and don't worry about it you're not being an idiot, I've asked many a stupider questions.
 
Sorry once again. Im getting confused. There are 2 versions of KI3 kernal.

XXKI3
ZSKI3

Which one do I use? Also is the link below that says: Stock Kernal the one that I need to download to get root back?

I'm on xxki3 so play it safe and go for that one. To be honest I've never heard of zski3. Maybe someone else can shine some light on that one. And yeah you use the stock kernel to remove root.
 
I've manged to flash the phone to the new update. Thanks for your help.

Now I can't root it back.

I have downloaded the kernal and used odin, but when I use Super1Click it freezes.

I get the following: Running rageagainstthecage..

And it just stays there.

Any ideas what is happening?
 
I download another version of Super1click and this time, it got to step 6 and just hangs. It says not responding and I have to quit out.
