Update to stock 4.3 without increase flash counter?

Boraba

Newbie
Hey, I currently have a 4.1.2 stock official firmware S3, but since my carrier takes forever to release the 4.3 update I'm considering using another country's official firmware from sammobile and updating with odin.

If I download the firmware from sammobile and flash it with odin will that increase my flash counter? I mean will my phone be considered "rooted" even though its the official firmware?

Thanks.

Nah its only custom firmware that trips the counter. The sammobile firmware is taken straght from kies so its like getting a normal update :thumbup:
How far away is the country though? Like id make sure the baseband (radio firmware) is gona work first. And i take it youre on the gt-i9300 (international) s3?

Israel, I doubt we're getting 4.3 any time soon, and yea I have the i9300.

Anyway, I noticed that there's MJ9 and MK6. I've managed to flash the MJ9 BTU (UK) version but I can't get MK6 OTA, is it because my csc is ILO? (Israel)

Is there any way of getting MK6 without changing the csc to BTU without increasing the flash counter?

Thanks for the reply ::D

Hey. I tbh i dont know. Try putting a post in the international s3 all things root forum too. I know you arent rooted but people might know better there. Good luck :thumbup:
