Those of us who rooted and removed apps are all in the same boat......no update will work for us.
Those who rooted and only froze apps rather than removing them seem to be able to update......but they can no longer root.
The update has only minor improvements anyway.
From what I have heard so far, I would rather be rooted with 2.2.1 than get the 2.3.3 update. Being able to dump all the bloat is worth the lack of upgrade path.

You should be able to reinstall the bloatware back into the phone from a backup. Then either unroot and do your update or just do the update. (you will lose your root either way)my phone is currently routed and i did some of the debloating. now when the update downloads to my phone it says that it is unable to install. what do i need to do to be able to allow this update or is the update even worth it??
I'm yet to see any advantage of the update and would much rather have my root access back. But that's just me.
Many have tried that including me.
I have yet to hear of anyone actually replacing removed apps and getting the update to work. Many have reported the same failure.
well the good thing is that i did not erase them i just froze them until i could see how my phone would respond to it and for got about going back to delete it all. so i have the option to update. but from what i have heard and the research that i have done im going to still with what i got with the root until i break the phone, which shouldn't happen considering the phone. thanks all for the help...
