Root updated and now can't root. newbie question

Hi all! A newbie here...
I have done a lot of readings and is hard to digest all the information on the first day.

I have four zte awe phones. I rooted two with impactor, but the other two phones was updated and now unable to root. I have also tried motochop and super one click.

Under About phone, the rooted phone (without update)
SW version is N800V1.0.0B05
and the updated phone is N800V1.0.0B06.
kernel version also changed by this update.

since I can't get root working with this update, my question is how do I bring this phone back to before the update? can I backup the rooted one and overwrite the updated phone? this method is called rom flashing?

Thank you!

B06 rears its ugly head again. I wonder if we'll see any source updates. At any rate I want to know what changed.

mh, mind uploading a dump of the phone?
