Help Updated 'Photos' app problems

Hi,

The Photos app on Android 4.4 seems to have auto updated recently, not sure when though as i dont remember a prompt, nor can i see it in Google play as an updatable app (is it actually part of the google+ app?).

Anyhow, since the update, I have noticed that edited photos 70% of the time do not actually get saved correctly.

In the past the original photo was still present and an 'edited' version was also saved. However, since the update, more often than not, the original version of the photo seems to be replaced with the edited photo, but then if i attempt to share the photo somewhere (e.g. on tumblr as part of my 365 project) the only photo appearing for selection is the original unedited version.

Has anyone else noticed this issue, it would be nice to 'roll back' to the previous version which worked perfectly, but cant seem to find a way.

Cheers :)

Select the edited photo, and look in settings - you can revert back to original.
(I think you would need to uninstall updates to Google plus to go back to previous version)

Is it some change in the photo editor then, where it only 'appears' to store 1 photo rather than two and the edited photo can only be seen in the photos app then?

If i look in the photos app, i can see only the edited photo, but if i look in the gallery app, I can only see the unedited photo.
