Help Updated to 4.4.2 Now Email no longer syncs

Hello all,

I recently updated the phone to 4.4.2 and now my email program will on longer sync. My email accounts are through comcast and I am using the basic Email program from Android. I have reset the email program multiple times and reentered in my accounts multiple times. When I enter the accounts it automatically pulls in everything from the server as expected. I weed it all back down to the minimal messages I want to keep accessible on my phone and then from there it will on longer sync and download any email whether automatically or manually.

Sync is one and green. Auto sync is selected in my Data Usage settings. Email accounts are both set up to sync every 15 minutes. I have restarted the phone, turned off the phone and restarted the phone and have removed the battery and restarted the phone. Airplane mode is not on. Every now and then I would have a similar problem and a reset of the app and re-entry of the accounts, while annoying, did enable things to work again, but nothing is working anymore.

I don't have time to reset the phone right now. What I need is for the email app to actually work. Yeah I know the Note 2 has been out for a number of years now, but I am quite content with it and aside from this email problem the phone works perfectly.

Does anyone have a fix for this problem?

In your email settings, try this:

Change the security type from SSL to SSL (accept all certificates)

Also, you said you are using the "Basic Email Program from Android." Is this the Samsung Email program that comes with the Note 2?
