Help Updated to ICS - Email widget doesnt work

Hi,

I updated to ICS through Kies today. Successfully added my email account but the widget does not update or add any emails? If i go through social hub the emails are there but I cant see my emails through the "email" app.

Any ideas?

Perhaps you could check in settings, Accounts & Sync to make sure sync is turned on for the account in question

Also Settings, Mobile &network, more, mobile networks, make sure 'use packet data' is on

Same problem here. My email notifications come through fine. When I get an email, the email icon appears at the top of the screen. The stock email widget however does not update with the new email that has been received.

Has anyone manged to find a fix for this?

Also, what does use packet data do?

Similar problem here, although the widget does occasionally update for no obvious reason. Sometimes the update is minutes, sometimes hours, after the message notification has arrived.

Just read somewhere else on the net that another user with the same problem unistalled something called 'Fancy Widgets' and after doing so the email widget started working. The only thing I have that I could think of along these lines was 'NoLed'. Unistalled that and guess what - yep, email widget now worked fine!

I then reinstalled NoLed and added the NoLed widget to the home screen etc and all still works fine. No idea how or why but its working!

If any of you have similar apps installed it may be worth trying the same?
 
The only thing that I have recently installed is Draw Something (Free), but I can't see this affecting the email widget. I have Missed Message Flasher installed and I have added this and the Email to ignore list on Advanced Task Killer.
 
The problem with the email widget has returned :(. Seems to work for about 5-6 hours and then just stop. Emails are still arriving fine and clicking on the icon opens the email window and all emails are present and correct but on returning to the home screen the widget is still out of date with the refresh icon spinning away.

Very frustrating. Might try another factory reset tonight to see if it clears the problem but don't have a lot of faith in it doing so.
