Updated Weather App + Widget [DOWNLOAD]

Here is the Weather App and Weather Widget from the LG Optimus Exceed (Prepaid version of the Lucid, VS840PP). I thought it looked nicer so I decided to install it.

To install it you have to remove the Wiper.apk, Wiper.odex, WeatherWidget.apk, and WeatherWidget.odex files from /system/app . Before removing them, you should also delete the cache and data for these apps. Then install the Wiper.apk, WeatherMultiCPbin.apk, and WeatherThemebin.apk. They are deodexed already because for some reason they didn't work otherwise. I used adb push to install the apks, for example "adb push Wiper.apk /system/app/Wiper.apk" then just restart the phone and it should be installed and working.

On a side note the VS840PP has a lot of the bloat removed compared to our VS840.

• VS840PP has Chrome installed by default but still has the LG Browser.
• Finance app is removed.
• Verizon Remote Diagnostics is removed.
• FriendsPlus Widget is removed.
• Kindle is removed.
• LGolf3.apk is removed.
• Netflix is removed.
• News app is removed.
• Plants VS Zombies is removed.
• Power Control Widget is removed.
• TodayPlus Widget is removed.
• Vcast apps and Vcast tones are removed.
• VZ Navigator is removed
• The WeatherApp and Widget are updated.

I'm not sure if the actual software is different though. I know the Optimus Exceed only has 3G and there is no SIM card slot in the case (but not sure what the main board looks like).
