Help Updates?

I think it will be by HTC .. i don't see VM controlling that part like metro pcs does its not blocked like on the METRO PCS Android phones are if you look in the settings its removed from all there phones..

Updates are a coordinated effort by the carrier and manufacturer. They both need to be on board for an official update to happen.

The way I see it most of the time is an update must be pushed by the OEM for the phone and the carrier must receive it and modify it for their network, pack their bloat in it, make sure it plays nice-nice with all of their settings and service.

I don't think Virgin Mobile does any of that though, they ship a phone as-is and what you got is what you get.

Is there even a way to do an OTA update on this phone? There are no options for an android update in the "system updates", only HTC software updates.

I think they should I mean people are paying a premium for this device0

The Triumph was also a "premium" device at $300... We see how that worked out! It's still on Froyo and the software was broken out of the box. I do have a little more faith in HTC though.

"updates" tend to screw a lot of stuff up. I wouldn't install an update even if one was available.

I remember when sprint failed at trying to update the optimus S to GB. And I flashed the security and radio update for the optimus v which only created multiple problems and upgraded or fixed NOTHING.

I will now always wait for the devs to update me to the new stuff
