Updating Android on a Samsung Galaxy S6

I have a Samsung galaxy s6 that I want to upgrade to Android 7 it is the sm-g920 model and when I search for updates in about phone it says my phone is up to date even though it is running 5.1. How do I get it to update.

A lot will depend on the variant you have. Should be a letter after the model number.
