Help Updating CM12

I am using a LG G3 running cyanogen mod 12. There is an available update to CM13 but I am unsure if updating requires me to wipe my phone completely.

Due to the issues that Cyanogenmod are happening at the moment... (they've killed it) now might not be the best time to attempt at OTA.

In general many people who upgrade have to reset to iron out any oddities even if its not required...
