Updating K9 email client

Does anyone know - if I want to update to the latest release of K9 do I just download it (effectively installing it "over the top" of my existing installation) or should I be uninstalling my current version and then installing the new version?

Downloads are meant to overlay. No need to remove the previous version, it will take care of it for you.

Many thanks...now I just need to work out why one of my emails is highlighted a shade of purple and when I choose an address from "people" "mailto:" is added to the person's name on the email!
