Help Updating music library (Jet) is tedious: user error?

Hey all - so I picked up a Moto G (1st gen) LTE (4.4.4, not rooted), and I'm totally loving it. For < $200 retail it's a real steal. But there's ONE thing that is driving me nuts. Basically, I have all of my MP3s in a Music folder on my SD card, and it all shows up perfectly in the music player I'm using, JetAudio. It works and plays great, but... whenever I upload new music into the folder on the card from my computer, I have to jump through hoops to get Jet to recognize/show the new albums. I have to:

1. add new music to the SD card
2. force quit JetAudio player
3. clear Jet's cache
4. unmount the SD card
5. re-mount the SD card
6. open JetAudio
7. rescan Music folder

If I don't do this whole song and dance, the new music never appears in Jet. So my question is, is this user error on my part somewhere, or is this an expected process and just how the system works? I'm looking forward to knowing for sure. Thanks!

Please disregard my post, I figured this out myself. I am both embarrassed and relieved.

It turns out there was no user error, or any issues with Android or the SD card in general. This is simply the JetAudio player not scanning for new music. Period. I installed PowerAmp and tried to add new music, hit the "Rescan" button and it worked perfectly. No need to reply to this thread. Android for president.
