Root Updating the PRL

I'm trying to update the PRL on my Evo, following the All Things Root Guide. One of the steps say that you need to create a port so that the phone will show up under the active phones tab. Where do I get the port number for the phone so that I can create one?

you need to switch your phones diagnostic mode on before it will register a port in qpst.

if you have Root Explorer, simply navigate to sys/class/android_usb/f_diag/ and edit the file named "on". In there, change the 0 to a 1 and save.
