So i finally rooted my optimus f6, but now i can't get any updates. You could say get a custom rom, but none are compactible with the optimus f6. Or at least that i know of. Even if there was one, i dont hqve a pc that will connect with my phone since i need vista or higher and i have xp, so i cant get thedriver to properly download. If i unroot it, updated it, and rerootet will it affect the root apps like gl2sd. Idont want to lose appinfo because pf this. Also, speaking of apps, any tips on how to make a phone run apps smopther? I have san andreas, but it gets laggy and causes the whole gaming experience to go down, ots also on tje lowest setting. I know this is lpng amd i appreciate your time in reading and answering this question, i dont know what to do. Btw, i already have the phone overclocked. Thanks again

1) You can't update a rooted phone - the updates check for that. There's no tlling how close the ROM is to stock once the phone is rooted, and if it's been modified too much, updating could brick the phone. (So it's a good thing.)
3) If you unroot, update and reroot (if you can - if the rooting app you used made changes to certain files, it still won't update if you unroot), as long as you don't try to run an app that needs root while the phone is unrooted you won't notice any difference. (And then, the only difference you'll notice is that the app won';'t get root, so it won't run, until you reroot.) Unrooting just removes a file and an app from the phone, it doesn't do anything to other apps or to data.
3) An older phone is going to be laggy with a newer app. It's a problem with the hardware, not something an app can fix. That's why contracts are 2 years - by that time, most phones are so outdateds that we want new ones. (And the reason they've shortened the update period is that better phones are coming out faster.) As faster phones come out, devs develop apps on them and if they don't run on older, slower phones, they usually don't know, because they sold the old phone to buy a newer one.

Welcome to the forum mate.
Thanks guys, i got thw root part and sytem updates, but what about ut being slow. Two months ago, i could play hd 3d games perfectly, now its lag here lag there. I cant even play geometry dash since a spinning circle causes it to lag out and even crash. Also, i cant type aince the lag comes in andy keys dont wt.v.ork properly and spaces are leftput and letters arent inputted. Or ahould i re ask this in another sevtion? Sorry, im still new to this.
