Help Updating x10a after debranding

hi guys. i successfully debranded my rogers x10a to a generic x10a firmware. but for some reason i cant seem to update it to R1FA016. both ota and sony update software keeps telling me that my phone has the latest software. i was wondering if any1 faced similar issues and if there is a solution to this problem.
i have the latest version of SEUS and PC Companion

There is no R1FA016 for the Generic X10a firmware yet. That's why it is saying that it is up to date. When it does come out, you'll be able to update without waiting for Rogers.
