Upgrade compatibility

[jimmybuddy22]

Hi ppl,

I am currently using an android 2.1 with my motorola XT3 and want to upgrade it to an android 2.2 Fryo. I inquired about the same with the moto customer care but they are telling that it is not possible as of now as my handset is not compatible with fryo. Any suggestions..........

Hi and welcome to the forums! Unfortunately you may be out of luck there, but check here Motorola XT300 (Spice) - Android Forums you may find more info.

Hello jimmybuddy. Welcome to Android Forums. I'm sure that the moto customer care knows their product and it's capabilities. Many android devices can be modified to handle a different rom which is called root. You might check in on the sub forum for your device and see if such is possible for your phone. Here is a link to the sub forums here. http://androidforums.com/
If you can't modify your device, you will have to wait and hope that an upgrade is in the works for your device. In any event... good luck to you and enjoy the forums.
