Upgrade conundrum

Hi all,

1st of all Sorry as I bet people post questions like this on a regular basis.

For the 1st time ever im coming upto that time of year to upgrade my phone.
I am due a upgrade in October but I honestly have no idea what to do or get.
There are so many great phones out there.

Currently I have a UK Samsung Galaxy S3 that 6 months ago (there abouts) I rotted with CF Auto Root. I love my phone but for past 2 months iv been having minor issues - mainly out of memory to what iv uploaded all photos to one of my cloud services, But iv also had some issues with apps all of a sudden crashing (not a great issue, just means restarting the app)

Anyway as said I don't know what to do. There are so many great phones out now but iv also heard of these supposedly brilliant next generation chips that will be in some of the next phones. So my conundrum isn't only what phone to get now but if I should go onto a 30day rolling contract until one of these next gen phones are out?

Usages

I thought I best post some of my usages.
Camera - I own a car club and go to many car shows throughout the year so I need to be able to take as high quality photos as possible of static and moving cars (static is the higher priority here)

I play games, On facebook and twitter almost all the time when im awake, Use the web browser, download and watch/listen to videos and music hmm basically use it like any other person really lol.

So yeah any help or advise to help me through this conundrum would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

Galaxy S5 or the LG G3.

Both great cameras, the Galaxy S5 does have better battery life and performance will probably be better in games on the Galaxy S5 overall due the lower display resolution.

I wouldn't say you use it like every other person, you would be surprised how many place almost no importance on the camera quality.

TBH them 2 phones jumped out at me for now.

Just not sure as the next gen phones should be here in February (ish) time so may just wait.

And by then there will be something better in the pipeline.

If there's something that appeals enough for you to want to upgrade then do so. Otherwise switch to a cheaper contact (e.g. a SIM-only deal) until there is. Don't upgrade just because "it's due" if you aren't sure, as you'll be stuck with whate you buy for another couple of years. But don't keep on paying a subsidy for a handset you've already paid off, which is what you are doing if you stay on the same tariff after the minimum contract period is finished.

I have to admit that whenever someone says that high quality photos are important I always want to answer "buy a camera then". Even the best phone cameras have limited dynamic range, no optical zoom (digital zoom just degrades image quality) and don't let you control shutter speed (for moving subjects). Their only advantage is convenience, because you are carrying them anyway.

I have to agree with you there and yes I have actually been looking at DSLR's but as said a DSLR is a bit bulky for them quick moments lol

yeah I think a fresh install of a root on my phone and wait till next phones and go to a sim only for now
