Upgrade from 4.1 to 4.4 !?

I have a tablet with android 4.1.1, I want to upgrade it to 4.3 or 4.4 ?
The company wich I bought it from wont send the updates, so if I can install the rom ?

The update distribution is controlled by the carriers and manufacturers. What tablet are you using and who is the carrier?

If the manufacturer won't write the updates, there is no ROM for you to install. (The ROM is the updated version of the firmware, and the manufacturer writes it.)

Let me guess, they're in Shenzhen, China. Thing is any updates do have to come from the manufacturer, except for Nexus where updates come directly from Google. Unless you have a well known device, that ROM devs know about and can make ROMs for.

People with name brand devices are lucky to get the update they do receive. Knock offs from China don't have a chance.

Even if they're not Chinese(although the device itself is likely to be Chinese), the only peeps who can supply updates is the company it came from. No one else can. Third party ROMs are usually for popular makes like Samsung or HTC, that devs know about.
