upgrade question

Hi everybody had a question. My friend has an upgrade available he doesn't want to use on himself. My question is if he upgraded a phone for me , gave/sold it to me , and I took it to prepaid would att be upset or blacklist my phone?. I'm just wondering ,

If you take it to another prepaid company that will first require ATT to unlock the phone.

ATT will not unlock a brand new phone under contract.

If what your asking is, Can your friend get the new phone(and does continue to honor his contract) Can you use that phone on another account, Yes but remember if he does not honor the contract the phone gets blacklisted.

I don't see why its not possible. Once you buy a phone, even at the upgraded subsidized price, the phone is yours. You can use it for a hockey puck if you wish.

The only thing AT&T cares about is the two year contract he signed to get the phone. I've sold phones that were under contract, no problems. Just activate another phone on the line then the other phone is free for resale. Even if your friend stops paying his bill, the phone is now yours and you won't be effected.

If the phone is at&t branded phone, you'd probably have to take it to straight talk and use it with them.

There is the matter of unlocking as mentioned. If you can't get AT*T to do it, there are other ways.
