Complete nOob to this, so please be gentle! Going from a jailbroken iPhone so trying to get the general jist of how to unlock my phone and root, or maybe it's unroot my phone too.
I've heard that if the software is upgraded to the new .66 software then an unlocking code will work first time without the need to use the Madaco rom etc etc. Is this true?
Can an Orange locked Hero be upgraded using the Sync software without actually turning it on as I don't have an Orange sim card to turn it on with before unlocking it.
If i do need a sim card to upgrade to make it easier to unlock, should I just apply the Madaco rom any way as I wish to root the phone?
Read through most of the 'How-to' threads but I'm afraid i'm still a bit lost!!
Any help would be great, or perhaps a dummies guide, for a dummy!!
