Upgrade with an online site other than Verizon HELP

Heres my question. I see site like amazon and wirefly sending out Inc according to some people. In order to get the cheaper price you have to renew. Ive always did my renewing thru Verizon and am currently not eligable for upgrade. Can I still go to the other sites and extended my contract and upgrade to a new phone? How does that work? Thanks for the help.

Also, if you can extend and upgrade outside of Verizon directly. Do you still get a discount from verizon if you qualify and can you still make changes and everything on my verizon?

If you are not currently eligible for an upgrade then you cannot go to any other site to upgrade. They still go based on your upgrade date because vzw is the company that provides service to you.

If you technically could upgrade and you had a discount through verizon the other sites will not provide you the upgrade discount verizon has. That is only an offer that verizon provides you.

In regards to being able to change your plan online it is still possible. The only thinh is that you have to make sure the other website didn't require you to have a certain plan for a certain amount of time. For example, I know wirefly sometimes requires you to get a certain plan for a few months and if you.change it they will charge the full retail price of the phone to the credit you used.

I used to work for Verizon and i always saw that a lot of people had problems when going with a different vendor. Because of this i will never buy a phone that is not from verizon directly.

Keep in mind they could possibly have different return policies and different restocking and early termination fees.

This guy is very smart. Listen to him :) Your upgrade eligibility is based on your Verizon upgrade eligibility. If your not eligible for upgrade with Verizon then you can't elsewhere.

Even if you could, Wirefly & Letstalk.com etc make you maintain the pricing plan and features for 181 days and if you change your plan or features or change phones within that 181 days they will automatically charge their ETF to the card you used to purchase the phone. And those are in addition to Verizon ETF's. Even if you wanted to switch to an old phone you already have they will hit you with the ETF's

Its not a pretty picture. Avoid 3rd party retailers all together and sign direct with Big Red.
