Upgraded to the U11 - any tips or app suggestions???

Looking for thoughts, reactions, Pros/Cons after upgrading to the new HTC U11???

I had the M7 which was upgraded to the M9 and have for the most part Loved both phones!
The battery in my M9 is showing signs of fatigue (I'm Not a heavy user - so not happy about that!) - it takes a long time to charge and drains faster now. Also little things like the screen doesn't flip a lot of the time and in general it just seems to be running a bit slower these days (could that be AT&T service Hmmm) Anyway, I'm at the point where I can/should have insurance upgrade my M9 ... as a long time Fan of HTC, should I go for the U11???

I appreciate your info and thoughts - Thank You!

Tim

Is this Forum page Dead??? No U11 owners here...

I ordered (and received) the 128/6GB version for here in the USA this week
(FYI, there is a $50 coupon code out there).
So far, it is a BEAST ... and the Camera !WOW!
I am disappointed that a lot of what was on my HTC One M9 didn't 100% swap over though, contacts are a mess for some reason?
& the Easy stuff like where is Gallery? Music? People?
I like the Fast one tap options to get to things like that on my phone... Any suggestions on where to find those or are there new Apps that should be downloaded???

Thanks ... Tim

I don't own a U11 for one reason: it's too big for me to use comfortably. If htc had not boosted it up to phablet size I'd have bought one.

I do however know that they no longer include their Gallery app, just Google Photos. So you'll just have to look for a third party replacement (perhaps you may still find the HTC Gallery in the Play Store, but I think that's unlikely. Or it might be that a Web search will pull out a copy that works with your phone). It's a continuation of their recent trend towards removing their own apps. I don't know about their Music app, but I've used PowerAmp in preference for many years.

"People" surprises me though, since the U11 I played with seemed to have the same dialer and contacts app as always. Perhaps they've just removed the separate entry point they called People (since that and the dialer are the same app, the two icons just open it on different tabs).

Thank you Sir!
I hear you on the larger size - I've got bigger hands so this phone fits pretty good but it is for sure at the limits - don't want bigger! It will be a bit of a change carrying it around and finding good fitment in pockets - especially after I find a good case.
I did find "People" hiding from me in the app tray haha
I'll check out your suggested PowerAmp app - Thanks!
I see that they moved most stuff to standard Google apps - I guess that keeps used memory down and updates fresh. I guess I'll just have to get used to them.
I did find two "no ad" aps that I'm trying out: SimpleGallery and Pulsar (for music) Both are no nonsense, simple, do what they say aps ...
I've never really ventured very far into PlayStore land - past phones came with most of what I used them for already loaded. This unlocked U11 isn't weighted down with much BS ... lots of room for new apps and tools - I just have to find them haha
