Help Upgrading from 4.1 to 4.4 for Tablet

Hello Community,
I have a tablet which has Android 4.1.2. I need to run an app which requires 4.4 or newer. Is there any way I can force an upgrade without having to wait for Samsung?

Tablet:
Samsung GT-N8013
Kernel Version: 3.031-813049

Have you checked for updates, plugging it into a PC and using Kies? But if Samsung have never upgraded it beyond 4.1, they're not likely to be doing any more for it, discontinued support.

The other option is a custom ROM, CyanogenMod possibly, but that looks like it stopped at CM10, which is Jellybean,4.3.

This sucks. I guess no more Samsung tablets for our family. This is unacceptable.
