Upgrading from a Samsung Galaxy Indulge

So I've had an Indulge since about a good year or so ago. Afters many months of struggles, glitches, low-battery life, incompatibility with apps, I've decided enough was enough and it's time to step it up.

Originally, I decided I was going to wait for the Samsung Galaxy S3, but then I took a look over at some forums and stumbled upon this phone. I went ahead and looked up a bit further and found that on average, this phone gave a 5100 on Quadrant, and the Samsung Galaxy S3 (non-metro PCS) scored a 5650. This makes me assume that the difference in quality is only 10%, even though the S3 is literally going to be about 300% more expensive. Sounds like a freaking rip off.

Now I know that the quadrant isn't exactly accurate, due to the fact that the Motion has a pretty low aspect ratio compared to the S3, I mean if the S3 had the same ratio it'd probably be ~30-40% ahead I'd imagine. But at the moment, anything sounds better than what I'm currently dealing with: a piss-poor camera, 4 hours of battery life, glitchy/sometimes unresponsive screen, low-quality voice detection (seriously I don't even see those voice-search things as a valid option), and apps that don't work because the phone is too slow or doesn't have the appropriate version of Android.

What do you guys think I should do? And no I won't switch carriers, so whatever MetroPCS has to offer is what I can deal with. Don't just take into consideration the Motion and the S3, but also take into consideration some of the other phones out there for Metro as well!

You need to set a priorities for yourself.
What's most important to you
-Budget?
-Specs, screen size, resolution.
-Performance? What are you going to use your phone for?
-Battery life, can you survive a day on one charge?
-Cool look, peer pressure, having a COOL phone.

Know what you want, know what you need, then decide. Set your priorities first.

I know I'm ready to pay $3000 for a road bike, but I'm not paying $500 for a cell phone.

Honestly....i got rid of my indulge and stepped down to the Optimus M...because the Indulge was such a shi*ty phone..and I am very pleased with the Motion. the S3 is an amazing phone, but yeah...the price is just not worth it IMO.

I was one of those people that couldn't wait for the s3..

I had the LG Esteem, so I wanted to upgrade my phone.. cause 1 GHz processor and 512 ram wasn't really cutting it for me.. if the Lg esteem wasn't rooted it would of been a very bad phone..but rooted made it a good phone..

But I wanted something 1gb or higher on ram and a dual-core processor..

Looking at s3, I was like heck yeah can't wait sell the esteem and what not..then this Lg Motion came out..almost the same specs as the s3..Just the Lg Motion screen size is a killer..that may turn people away..

so I went up to Metro to look at the phone, and yes I was OMG this phone is small compare to my LG Esteem.."but the Lg Motion screen is the same size as the Iphone 3 3s and 4 4s"

So the more I thought about it the more I realize it would be smart to buy the Lg Motion then the s3.."like I said close to the same specs"

the s3 gonna be around 500 something with tax, and fees..while the Lg Motion be under 200 .."I got Mine Lg Motion for 133.88 off wirefly"

I can tell you this I LOVE THE LG MOTION..It's fast, the battery life is great..way better then my LG Esteem and I can tell you..LG Motion Has better battery life then the s3..My brother has the s3 and his dies a little faster then my Lg Motion...and Lg Motion blows both phones away on charging...it charges fast..

But if you have the money, or what not go for the 3s..but Lg Motion is right up there...it's crazy the Lg Motion is under 200..it should be a 300 to 400 dollar phone

I had the Indulge, and put up with that piece of S___ for a year and a half
The Motion is GREAT,, I don't have a dead battery in the morning

And every thing works FAST even the camera works as it should
So sorry I spent the money for the indulge, sold it on ebay for $78.00

if u got the $$$ get the s3 its more options, obviously a better phone, larger screen a little faster, more options, u can root it put jellybean etc... i would get the s3 for the money


since im on a budget i bought the motion, i still love this phone, i just recently rooted it but it doesn't need root, runs fast, plenty of space, battery life is pretty good charges fast. its a great phone for the price definetly worht the money best android phone i had hands down... the internet runs fast, my games run fast, i have very little problems with it in general


bottom line depends on what type of user u are as well, if u do everything on your phone, the s3 is where its at u can hook it up to an hdtv and everything and use it with a mouse just like a computer... ive seen youtube videos it does a whole lot, u can pretty much do everything on that phone... i wish the motion was a little more flexible in that sense... but if u have a computer and u just need a phone the lg motion is all you need... it has 90 percent of the features im looking for, just the s3 has the last 10 percent its like the icing on the cake... is it worth the extra $$$? its up to you

The Indulge was THE WORST phone I ever had. Countless, constant problems. If you're on a budget the Motion is well worth it and an absolute joy to own. You will especially love the battery life.
