Help Upgrading my phone.(New User)

Hi guys!I am new here on the forums and need a bit of help.
First of all I have LG GT540 phone.I've had the phone for 1.5 years for now and decided to upgrade him to Android 2.2, 2.3 and possibly 4.0 if it is possible.
So! I need help, maybe a detailed explanation on how to do that.I have been searching for a few weeks now and can't find anything.
I appreciate your help guys!
