upgrading ram and hdd

Hi sorry if this has been asked before i did look but couldnt find it . i am thinking about getting a 10.1 but in my prcie range i have a choice or 3gb of ram and 16gb hdd or 32gb hdd and 1 gbof ram . what woupd be better all i really want it for is reading pdf and wstch some videos on. the main question really is can i upgrade the ram or hdd some places say yes others say no if the answer is yes what would be easier to change

i have been doing a bit more looking . i see you can get a kit to plug a sd card in but what is the max sd card size will it take
 
i know what u mean but have looked loads of places say the samething with the 3gb of ram .. i know the store so is ok on that front can send it back if its wrong .
