Help Upgrading SD card

Hi, I'm new to Android but I love it. I got a Galaxy 3 running Android 2.1. I have a number of apps that have stored files on the SD card. I got a 2GB SD card with the phone but I want to get a larger card. Is it as simple as backing up everything to PC, unmounting the old card, puting the new one in, formatting the card, then copying back? Thanks, Mike

Yeah, that's basically what I did, copy data off old card to PC, then copy onto new card.
