Upgrading SD card

Looking to upgrade the stock 8GB SD card to a 32GB. Any particular recommendations on good inexpensive cards?

Anything special I need to know? When I get the new card, can I just copy everything from the old card over to the new card, and everything should work fine?

Thanks!

Try to get a class 6 card. Backup your old card to your computer. Format the new card in your phone, not on your computer, to get the proper file structure and basic folders created correctly. Transfer all the files from the backup to your new card. Only use your phone for the formatting of the new card. Do all the rest on your computer.

I did this when I went from the included class 2 card to a class 6 card so I could do HD video without dropping frames. I had no problems using the new card afterward.

Probably a dumb question - but higher class is better, right? Looking on newegg right now, and while I do see some class 6 cards, there's also some class 10 cards around the same price range as well.

Higher class rating than 6 won't buy you anything on this phone but won't hurt either. Class 6 is good enough for the 720p30 video this phone does. Be sure to read reviews on newegg - some cheap cards mislabel the class - the reviews usually point this out.

When you say backup, do you mean copy and paste the data?

Put the old card in an sd card reader on your computer.
Open the drive letter that is created when the card is inserted.
Select all the files and folders,
select copy,
create then open an empty folder on your computer,
select paste and wait for the data to be copied to the backup folder.

After the new card is formatted in the phone,
put it in the SD card reader,
select all the files and folders in the backup directory,
copy,
go to SD card, paste and wait for the date to be copied to the card.

select eject on card's disk letter.
Put card back in phone.

Make sure phone is powered off when putting in or taking out the SD card. There is a distinct click when the card is inserted. Push in on the card to remove. It is like a ballpoint pen. If the card is not in properly you will have phone problems.
