Help uploading photo problems

Hello folks. First off, I'm not new to forums, but I'm new to this one. Lots of great info here, so thank you all for all your hard work here. That being said, I've searched and searched, to no avail.

Please bear with me, as I'm not too 'techy'. I have an HTC Desire HD(hence posting here..) that I love. My contract is up in February, and I honestly have mixed feelings about getting a new phone, because I love this one. But then again...man there are some nice ones out there now. :)

The issue I'm having is this. When transferring photos to my PC or laptop(into the photo gallery), you obviously have the option of selecting 'all' or just 'new images'. Either way, the phone tries uploading a million thumbnails/pics/webpages/etc that have been viewed, along with the pics and vids.

So for example, even if I take NO pics or vids since the last time I uploaded, when I connect to the PC and upload, photo gallery will say that I have literally 5000+ new pics or videos to upload lol. But they are all weird screenshots, a million pics of the Google homepage, and zillions of webpages that I've viewed.

What am I doing wrong? Thanks for any and all help you can offer. :)

Welcome to AF!

Sounds like an issue with HTC Sync (or whatever it's called these days).

You could connect in MTP/USB drive mode (depending on the version of Android you run) and use Windows Explorer (Windows Key + e). You will find the phone under My Computer and your pictures under Internal Storage \DCIM\camera. If you sort by created date, you can easily locate the latest pictures and drag and drop them to an appropriate location on your PC.

The list that Windows needs to build would then only include the pictures you've taken rather than every image on the phone.

Another thing that might help would be clearing your browser cache - that would probably get rid of quite a few of the images you're not interested in.

Thank you very much for your reply. :)

The thing is though, I have tried uploading that way, and as well - I did try clearing all browser cache beforehand too. It will narrow down the files from say 5000, down to 4000 lol. Even after clearing browser cache, I still get quite literally thousands and thousands of webpage screenshots, and weird thumbnail pics and graphics etc. I just can't figure it out??
