Urgent help - broken Nexus 4!

Hi.

My Nexus 4 has a cracked screen and won't respond to any touch-screen commands.

Is there anyway I can retrieve the music, photos and files off this phone? I've connected it to a PC via a cable, but I can't browse the phone as I can't switch on the USB storage.

Any ideas! PLEASE!

If the phone is on, you shouldn't need to turn on anything to connect in MTP mode. Are you sure the phone is on? If you press the power button does it go to sleep? can you wake it up?

If the screen doesn't display any response to the buttons, it might be locked up. Try pressing and holding the power button for 20 or 30 seconds. It should force a reboot if the phone is working. Even if the screen doesn't display anything, if the phone comes on, it should connect to your PC well enough to retrieve your user files.

I can see the screen of the phone perfectly. I can switch the phone on and off without any problems. I just can't use the touch screen so can't turn on the USB storage or unlock the phone using my pattern.

Sorry, I've been doing a little testing.

So let me see If I have this clear, your phone is not rooted, nor is the bootloader unlocked. You don't have USB debugging enabled nor do you have MTP or PTP file transfer enabled? That pretty much disables any USB connections to the file system from what I can see. Maybe someone else has a solution I haven't thought of.
