Root urgent help - revolutionary soff recovery console is not working - htc desireA818a

i am trying do root for my htc desire (A8181) - Gingerbread 2.3.3 build number 3.14.405.1. First i tried with gingerbreak apk 1.2 and no progress, i have to cancel it after 45 minutes. Later i tired with revolutionary soff and installation went well of first stage and i got below boot screen

Later in recovery screen, none of menus are not working. When i select any of menu option in recovery ex: install with zip in SDCARD, its show revolutionary screen and stand still forever. Please advise how to resolve this issue.. appreciate your help ....

That recovery is crap.

Read the adb and fastboot faq here in the "all things root guide" sticky thread. You will need to get ADB set up on your computer so you can flash a better recovery.img

I recommend 4EXT. Flash whicheevr is appropriate for your device:

(Desire GSM), (Desire CDMA)

If 4EXT is flashable from an app, should it bypass the step of having to set up adb??

The app will require root. So if you can't flash root then you need to fastboot flashing the recovery img.
