US owners: does the GPS work properly?

Simple question for those of you who already have your hands on the US version of the GSIII. If you're outside of a WiFi area, can you get a location quickly?

I was an early adopter of the original Galaxy S (Captivate) and many users were never able to get GPS working properly, including myself. After two years of living without it, I'm quite ready to have proper GPS location again. Reading around these forums it sounds like some of the niggles of the original Galaxy S are still present on the S3 so I wanted to double check on this particular thing.

Thanks!

Yes! A million times yes! I have a Vibrant and it's leaps and bounds better. I get a lock inside my house within seconds with 7 meter accuracy. This is with wifi turned off. Outdoors, it locks on perfectly.

I'm sure the addition of GLONASS will really help with the quick acquisition of location data. I've read that the SGS3 can accurately lock on inside of buildings, like previous respondent mentioned.

Thanks for the replies. Now to find GS3s in stock to decide which color to get. :)

[Really likes the look/feel of the GS2 but can't pass up the hardware improvements of the GS3]

You can't compare 2+ yr old hardware, not to mention this time samsung is using completely different chips/gps. I had no issue with my nexus and am sure this will be even better for gps with glonass in it.
