US/UK phone query

Hello, I live in England but as an ex-pat I have a bank account in the US. The bank has a policy of verifying users every time they log in, but they ONLY verify by telephone, and only a US number! No email. I've been round and round with their support but they refuse anything else, and I'm effectively locked out until I come up with a solution. So, I'm now looking at ways to get a US number that will forward to my UK phone. So far, it seems that I must buy a US SIM card that I can use here in the UK, or go with a company that forwards calls individually. Does anyone have experience or advice on this?

Yes but the Google Voice number page says the caller must identify herself/himself first. That won't work, I'm afraid.

Does the login verification happen with their app and when you log in from the web with a laptop or computer? I'm guessing yes?
