USB 3.0 charging

I assume the only way to charge your phone in usb 3.0 is to plug the usb 3.0 cable into a PC. When you do this does it charge the phone any faster than the 2.0 cable and if so how faster is it? Thank you.

No it does not.
The USB 3.0 spec is for data only. the 2nd port has nothing to do with the charging circuits.

The faster charging is the result of using a 2.1 amp charger module with the higher quality cable.

The shorter the cable, the more amps it can carry.

The older and longer USB 2.0 cables have more resistance and won't support the higher charge rates.

A good, high quality USB 2.0 cable will charge at the higher 2.1 amp rate. It is the cable quality and the source's current capability, not whether it is using a 2.0 or 3.0 cable.

If the PC has the capability to source 2.1 amps of charging current, then it can charge the phone faster. IF it has the old style ports, then it will limited to the lower charging rates of that spec.

The 3.0 cable has a higher data thru put, nothing else.
