USB cable or charger

I have a Verizon LG Revolution and for the most part have been happy with it. Its not perfect, but has served its purpose for me. I have a question concerning its USB charge cable and/or wall charger.

I keep its original OEM USB cable/wall charger at home and charge it when needed. I also have an aftermarket USB cable/wall charger that stays at work for charging it there.

I noticed that the OEM charging equipment that came with it charges MUCH faster than the aftermarket equipment I got. Probably about 5 times faster. To help it charge at work with the aftermarket stuff, I tend to have to shut apps down and/or force them to stop. This helps it charge faster. Otherwise, its charging speed will CRAWL & can take 6-8hrs to charge it 50%. At home with the OEM equipment, it can do a full charge in 1-2hrs & no need to stop apps. The aftermarket USB wall charger is rated the same as the OEM USB wall charger; OUTPUT 5V, 1000mAh.

Therefore, I'm thinking it must be in the actual USB cable that is hindering the charge speed for it. Is this true? Or what other factors could be making the aftermarket stuff not charge it as fast?
