Help USB cable troubles..

Ok. tried pluggin in the usb cord to the top right of the phone but nothing happens. I have to lean it forward for it to connect to charge or acknowledge the laptop. need a new cord or something is messed with the phone? just started today

like i have to pull the cord forward to get it to work and if i let go it stops charging

know what I mean?

I have the same problem!

I just leave it on the edge of a book (the part that plugs into the phone) with the phone leaning off of the plug. It makes the contact and charges fine. Every other cord I've used has charged it w/o problem, so I know it's the cord Sony gave me with the phone thats messed up.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that's had this problem, too.

i thought i was the only one that has to lean it on something too to make clean contact. this sucks! just started doing it today

Hopefully it's just the USB cable....not the connection in the phone. Test that out.

And let me know if you find a cheap USB cable that does charge and allow data transfer with the x10.
 
ya when i plug my car charger in it connects fine.. so its obv. the cord that came with the phone

where do i get a replacement for the x10 ??? online only pretty much?

i got an SE EP750 twin charger from play.com
best thing i ever bought as my gf has an x10 too so can have them both plugged in from the same plug point :D
but yeah online is your best bet and i wouldnt buy one that isnt an SE product as you dont know if it will work properly.
 
ya if i lay it on a remote control or something it will charge but to get it to connect to PC (in the drag down notification bar) i have to really heave on it to get it to recognize it on my pc. this sucks
 
Had the same issue and have been using the girlfriends pc lead for her galaxy to charge the phone link it to the pc, android phones are android phones and all use the same connection so any lead for an android phone will work.
 
so its name is micro-usb cable? like if i were to look for it online how do i search that type of cord?

could try the sony store near me.. they might have it. be pricey though at 'the sony store'
 
before i order another one online for 10 bucks... does it sound like its the cord or the phone? my car charges works no problem though in the phone. but the usb cord has to be pushed for it to 'connect'. its really finicky
