Help USB Connected problem

Hi,

Ok this is the problem, for the past couple of days my phone has started showing usb connected notification in the notification bar and the screen turns on and off on its own. If i just leave it like that for 10-15 mins the phone automatically switches off. Heres what Ive tried in the past couple of days:

1. Tried usb debugging. connected the phone to the pc and then disconnected it. No result

2. Done normal factory reset. No result. Even tried hard resetting.. rebooted the phone. Still no results

3. I have reformatted my SD card. It still shows the usb connected option and the screen turns on and off again and again.

I dont understand whats causing this? Is there any way to fix this problem?
Do I have a virus in my phone?

I don't think you have a virus. Did you try uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers on your computer?

Hi ahsi,

It seems to be a pretty common problem in G3....yours is the fourth phone which I see with this kinda problem..All other including mine had to be sent to Samsung service center...where , i'm afraid to say, the MOTHERBOARD was changed!!!!
Samsung people claim that the charging point / usb port in the phone has got damaged!!!
