USB Connection - Galaxy s2

[Android Question]

I need to transfer files to and from my phone and computer.. When I plug my Samsung Galaxy s2 into the PC via USB cord, nothing whatsoever pops up on my phone, no USB storage option, it just charges the phone.. so there is some sort of connection, but not what I need! HELP PLEASE!!

Are you using the cord that came with the phone? Some cords (like the ones that come with wireless headsets) are charging only, not charging + data.
