Help USB Debugging/Screen Capture

I've lost the original USB cord that came with the phone, but I have another USB from my old Android phone that I use. The problem is, is that my PC won't recognize the phone with the old USB cord for some reason. It just charges the phone and no little USB icon shows up in the notification bar.

I'm trying to take some screen captures of my phone and I have the Android SDK tools and am going to use the DDMS to do the capture. But since the PC won't recognize the phone, I'm unable to do it.

My question is, what is a way that I can take some screen captures without the USB? BTW, I DO NOT have a rooted phone.

Thanks for any help offered!

Some HTC phones and Samsung Galaxy phones have screenshot built in. You can also use Remote Web Desktop from the Market, which has a screenshot feature. It connects to your PC via a WiFi connection.

Thank you for the replies and the help. Unfortunately, the screen shot feature in Remote Web Desktop will only work with a rooted phone. When you say the Samsung Galaxy has built in screen shot, do you know how to access it?

All I really need to figure out, is out to get the Android SDK's DDMS to recognize the phone. Then I'll be able to get the screen shots. But I'm not sure there is a way of doing it without a USB cord.

If you got an S2, press power and home button at the same time. For other Galaxy phones, press and hold back key then press home button.

No, I've got a Samsung Admire. Go Launcher and all those other "Go" programs won't have anything to do with the USB connection right? Because, I just downloaded and am using all those apps on my phone, and ever since then I haven't been able to use the USB. All though, like I said, this USB is from a different phone, so I don't know if it even works with this phone.
