USB Devices ON the android!

Hey there, i am new to this forum thing so bear over with me and my enlish :O

well, i "think" i am a pretty good geek to the multimedia on the android phone. RIght now on a HTC desire z "its nice, go buy it "

i pretty much do anythink on it right now. but i want more!!! hehe
well, the thing is, that i would like to know if android can detect ohter USB devices? like and mp3 player, so i could port music back and forth from the phone you know.. is that possible? using a usb adaptor micro to female usb port.


the ohter thing is, using the same usb port, to detect a usb headset to use for like skype and ohter mulitimedia viwing and that,

No, android doesnt have host support, so you cannot plug anything into the phone. The Xoom tablet should have this shortly though,

i see, then do there exist somekind of shoftware that can make it be a host?
and app of some kind?

No there isnt. Even if the phone could accept a usb input, it would not have any drivers for any devices, and there arent any drivers for other devices specifically made for android.

You know, Nokia N8 and E7 can detect an mouse... But there is an multi-touch screen, why mouse?

The Xoom has had this for some time now via the dev community, also the SGSII has a limited USB Host functionality.

So all in all there is hope...

since some can and some cant, never the less, i am gonna try it anyway with the usb stick, wish me luck, and thx for all to give some insight : )
