USB flash mass storage problem

I bought a Chinese made Android 10.1 4.2.2 KitKat tablet but I cannot read or open my USB flash drive contents when I insert it with a USB adapter from the host socket. Both the OTG USB one and the plain USB adapters.
My external keyboard was not working with the OTG adaptor but it worked with the plain USB adaptor and always thru the host socket
Whereas my plain USB flash drive is not working with both so I cant open and listen to my music as I used to do with Android version 2.2. #3245.
I am using the USB FM app to assist but it is locked not permitting g it??
Is there a work around to overcome this handicap??

Case now resolved..you can close this issue.
