Help usb host with otg

I have the wifi only version running stock ics. Does usb host with the otg cable work with a stock device yet?
I have tried flash drives, card readers and got nothing. I know it work once before. Did ics disable this option? Is the only way to get usb host with the otg cable on the xoom through root?

I recommend root if you want a quicker, more responsive device. (roms can help with the rest of your problems)
