Help USB Internet?

So I typed in this eloquent first message, spell checked it and cleaned it up and then the system sent it to the "Lost Bits in Paradise area" when I hit submit so here we go again:

Thanks in Advance, I appreciate the fact I see a few have spent a lot of time getting to know these phones here ;) THANKS IN ADVANCE I will have to find the THANKS button!

I really like the features from the HTC One V and it is all I can afford for, like a long time, and I want to see if I can tether internet to a macbook with the USB cable.

I have a plan with VM and that would be my carrier and would be the version of the phone I would be using after upgrading, with any SW locks, blocks and changes they add / subtract from it.

Since it doesn't mention this in their hype, I am confused if this is a special feature only some phones have or this phone with different carriers?

I seems for an extra $15 USD a month the HTC EVO has internet access but $100 more initially is over budget and I like the looks of this phone overall even more.

BTW, I got one of those VM USB dongle wireless wifi things a while back and returned it after about 2 days with all of my minutes used up and used up painfully at a very slow connection speed. I used the Magic-Jack a lot..

Thanks Again

I am working on getting the tethering unlocked. I have done every known method to allow it and it doesn't work. But it is high on my priority list to get done.
