I need to record audio from a usb microphone onto my ZTE Maven. This sucks, because the phone isn't OTG compatible. Is there a way to take a usb input and make it work?

What type of audio file you're trying to record because there maybe another method to navigate that issue.

its not a software thing.. you're missing the hardware required... so you're really looking at finding something else to do the hardware part

The Maven is more suited to 3.5mm headphone jack discrete use for a microphone. I don't know which app to use though.
